My best guess would be that my support of Nintendo's consoles will hit it's abrupt end by the time the new, next-gen consoles are phased in.
That may or may not be the case, based on the research I do before I actually buy my new system. |

I think that they have some good non casual games coming out.
The reason why I bring that up againg is because I was just looking at some of the new information released on some up coming games, and they look pretty good. Like that Dead Rising of the wii, fixes a lot of the problems that the first on had (thats something that I am happy with). they are going to use the Resiend Evil 4 over the shoulder control system. Not only that but they are aiming for having over 100 zombies on the screen at any given time. Yes I do know that this is a game that has already come out, but to wii owners that never played it, this is pretty cool. Its a sign that third party publishers are starting to view the wii in a different light. its a great sign of things to come. Also I am not a big sonic fan by any means, but has anyone seen the screen shots for that new sonic and the black night. That thing looks pretty good! I am happy that some good lookin games are coming out on the wii now because I do not think that we have seen its true power. Heck most of the time you do not see the true power of the system until its been out a very long time. look at the gamecube, no one know when it first came out that it could push out a game like RE4, who knows what the wii is able to push out ![]() If anyone is a fan of no more heros, you will be happy to know that the new Fatal Frame for the wii is being made by the same guy. By the way the graphics look amazing. I think I want that game more then the Sadness which is another great horror game coming out for the wii. This list of great up coming games seems to be pretty long if you ask me. I think we will see some information on a lot of games at Tokyo game show. Thats a strong event for nintendo

It's not directly Nintendo crapping on the core gamers. Keep in mind that within the last year we saw Mario and Smash Bros, two great games for hardcore gamers. Also remember that they brought us Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda.
Nintendo generally releases a few very kick-ass titles during each console generation, and relies on third parties to supply some other great hardcore games. In this generation the third parties have been weary of the Wii's 'kiddy' design, but are starting to gradually develop interest. Nintendo can't handle the entire load themselves, they need those third parties to bring some hit titles to the platform. If those third parties fail to deliver then it's not entirely Nintendo's fault. Don't worry though. This generation is far from over and I expect we will see some great first and third party hits before the end of it.Think of the success of these casual games as a great new way for Nintendo to fund new R&D teams for producing more great hardcore games. Casual games are a valuable investment whether you play them or not. |
