GameCube/Classic Controller

Not sure if this has been asked or addressed or not. But I was just wondering if you play and old GameCube game on Wii...do you need a GameCube remote, or will a Wii Classic Contoller work just fine?

I don't have either. But I'd rather just get a Classic Controller if I can, so I just use that for any old games I'd ever download too. So does it work too or would you need the other one?

really unless its been along time ago your the first to ask this question

in order to play Gamecube games you will need the gamecube controller.
of course you have to use the wii mote to actually start the game (one of many flaws of the Wii)

Oh darn. Hmmm

They have wires right? The GameCube remotes that is, and they just plug into the Wii somewhere I assume?

So basically the Classic Controller is only good then for say games you download off the internet then? And does the classic controller plug in too or it is wireless like the Wiimote?

I feel like such a newbie with this kind of stuff, considering the last Nintendo console I had was SNES hahhhaha.

there is a panel on the wii that pops open to reveal 4 spots for game cube controllers. The classic controller connects to the bottom of the wii remote, sort of like the nunchuck.

Oh and dont feel too bad, the last new console I bought before my wii was an SNES the year it came out.

The Classic Controller is good for the classic games, but it can also be used for some Wii games. I think that you can use it in Brawl. You will want to get a GC controller and CC if you plan on playing both GC and VC games.
