Owing to the general furor I accidentally created with my original posting of my video game idea, I returned to my computer and revised my document explaining the game.
Now that the old thread has been deleted by my request, I can now show the entire Wiispace forum my video game idea in full. Peach & Daisy: The Adventure ![]() Plot The game begins when a mysterious being descends on Princess Peach’s castle and attempts to steal the gold reserves therein. As usual, Mario and Luigi quickly jump into action to defend the treasure, but in the ensuing battle, both brothers are knocked out, and the gold gets stolen. After Mario and Luigi are revived, Peach asks them to tell them what happened. But to her dismay, she discovers that both brothers have lost their memory. Not knowing what to do, she contacts her cousin, Daisy, for assistance. In response, Daisy invites Peach over to her castle to discuss the situation. When Peach arrives at Daisy’s castle, she finds out that only a short time earlier, Daisy had been attacked by another mysterious being, though it was ultimately thwarted. What this being was after was not entirely clear, but Daisy felt that the attacks were linked. She also felt that whatever caused Mario and Luigi to lose their memories could also restore them. With no one else willing to help the two princesses complete this task, Peach and Daisy decide to go on the quest themselves to find the individual responsible for the messes it had caused. Game Type Peach & Daisy: The Adventure (working title) is a 3-D platformer. Influences of this game include Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, the Super Mario Galaxy games, Banjo-Tooie, the Paper Mario games, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Description Like with most 3-D platformers, Peach & Daisy: The Adventure will have a central hub where the player can do multiple things, ranging from storing/claiming items to partaking in skills challenges (more on that later). In this case, it will be Daisy’s castle. From this place, Peach and Daisy can reach the outlaying areas around the castle, which lead to the actual areas. Overall, there are 8 distinct areas which are to be visited in this order: 1. Grasslands 2. Desert 3. Tropical Islands & Reefs 4. Haunted House 5. Jungle 6. Arctic Snowfield 7. Underground Caverns 8. Volcano In each area, a boss character that can unlock the next world lays hidden behind a barrier. To get to the boss character, Peach and Daisy must collect Silver Stars (at least what I’m using right now) in that particular world in order to disable the barrier. There are 8 of these stars in each world, but only 5 need to be collected to disable the barrier; collecting the remainder of the stars unlocks concept art and music for replay for that world. Only by defeating the world’s boss character can Peach and Daisy move on to the next world, and only by defeating all 8 boss characters can Peach and Daisy take on the final boss, one which will be new to the Mario universe. The enemies that Peach and Daisy will face will be a mixture of old and new foes. Peach and Daisy can defeat them in one of three ways, depending on the adversary: 1. Jump on them. 2. Throwing things at them. 3. Using flower rods. At the beginning of the game, Peach and Daisy will collect a pair of special flowers from Daisy’s garden. Peach will use a fire flower, whereas Daisy will use an ice flower. Both flowers can be used like clubs to defeat enemies, activate switches, and so on. But they also have special powers which Peach and Daisy can use to do all of these things and more. At the beginning, both flowers have the ability to shoot fire or ice over a short distance, like a flamethrower. But as Peach and Daisy defeat boss characters, they either obtain new abilities for their flower rods to use or extend the range of their initial flame/frost shooter, and both Peach and Daisy have unique abilities with their flower rods. With the exception of using the flower rods as clubs, all of the flowers uses consume pollen points. A gauge on-screen shows how much pollen is left for the usage of flower rod abilities. Peach and Daisy also have a health gauge. Like with nearly all games based in the Mario universe, there are blocks and coins that serve numerous functions. In the case of blocks, there are the ubiquitous brick blocks (red and blue, in which the latter can be moved about and can be used as weapons) and ? blocks, heart blocks that completely refills health and pollen gauges and can be used repeatedly, special power blocks that can make Peach and Daisy temporarily metallic or transparent, and switch blocks that will switch Peach for Daisy, and vice versa. In the case of coins, there are regular yellow coins, red coins (when 10 of them are collected in a specific area, Peach and Daisy are awarded a Silver Star), and blue coins (when 10 are collected overall, Peach and Daisy can play a mini-game in Daisy’s castle to collect extra lives and/or items). As stated before, Peach and Daisy have the ability to use items. Items include mushrooms, syrups, offensive boosts, defensive boosts, ailment relievers, and speed adjusters. These items are obtained from ? blocks, vanquished enemies, from skills challenges, and from mini-games. Peach and Daisy can each carry 10 items, and up to 40 items can be stored in Daisy’s castle for later usage. Besides Silver Stars, Peach and Daisy can find a wealth of other goodies in each area. They are divided into enhancements and skills challenges. In terms of the enhancements, these either permanently increase the size of the health or pollen gauges, or permanently improve Peach and Daisy’s offensive or defensive capabilities. There is one enhancement of each kind in each area. In terms of skills challenges, these are special challenges that are conducted at Daisy’s castle to test the player’s abilities. In each challenge, the player must accomplish the objective of the challenge within a certain time limit. If the player succeeds, Peach and Daisy will be awarded with extra lives and some items. These skills challenges can be played multiple times, and they are divided into land challenges and water challenges. Perhaps the most unique aspect of this game is the wardrobe sets that both Peach and Daisy will wear throughout the game. Though both Peach and Daisy wear their usual dresses during the introductory segments of the game, they will wear one of two sets of clothing, depending on the situation. The primary clothing set they will wear is called the ‘hiker set’, which consists of a long-sleeve turtleneck shirt, a pair of cargo pants, a pair of boots, and a belt. This set of clothing allows the two ladies to perform most of the tasks at hand, whether it is running, climbing, or jumping. However, they can only swim on the surfaces of bodies of water in these outfits, and they cannot access water slides found in most areas. In those instances, Peach and Daisy can change into a ‘snorkeler set’, which consists of a water polo style 1-Piece swimsuit, a pair of swim fins, a snorkel, and a diver’s mask. In this wardrobe set, Peach and Daisy are free to swim and fight underwater as long as they like, and they can access water slides to collect coins, items, Silver Stars, etc. But while in this wardrobe set, they cannot move as fast or jump as well on land, and they cannot climb ladders, vine-covered walls, and similar surfaces. To change from one wardrobe set to another, find a changing tent and enter it. Each world will have instances of where at least one Silver Star, enhancement, and/or skills challenge can only be collected via a certain outfit set, and thus will play a significant role in how the player will approach each area. My Final Thoughts Overall, I firmly believe that it is overdue for a game starring Peach and Daisy on the Wii console and/or its successor to come out, and I think that my video game idea of Peach & Daisy: The Adventure would fit that bill very well. Hopefully this description of my video game idea will satisfy everyone. As before, I am not looking for any help, financial or otherwise. I am just looking for simple opinions, like 'I like your video game idea' as an example. I also hope that you let your friends, both on Wiispace and off of it, know about this video game idea so they can post their opinions too. In any case, thanks for taking the time to review my video game idea in full, and I hope to hear from all interested parties very soon! Last edited by generation_twilight; 02-13-2010 at 10:42 PM. I like it.
It sounds different enough to not come off as being a rip-off of Super Mario World, and similar enough to retain interests within the fanbase. Personally, my favorite aspects are the focus on Daisy (she's very much underrepresented), the interesting story twist that feels a lot like how Nintendo would handle this sort of approach, the willingness to attempt a 3-D game with the girls in lead, and the swimsuits (>:3). A question, though: will you be able to visit Peach's castle, and, if so, what will there be to do there? Oh, and another question: will you be posting more info in the near future? I'd very much like to hear more, particularly about the various areas and enemies. I became all warm inside when reading this, probably because I love video game ideas and my furnace came on around that time. :3

Right......
Well, this is as much as I wish to put into my video game idea, Balore, though I have some color swatches for the two wardrobe sets I mentioned. Ultimately, however, I will leave the rest to Nintendo to figure out what they want to do with my video game idea, in as long as they keep this general structure in place. |

Sounds good to me, and it is even a new change of pace in playing Peach rather than saving her, not to mention bringing out Daisy, who is seemingly nonexistant with exception to Mario Kart games, among others.
It would be a great idea for Nintendo to take on, too bad they probably won't listen, but who knows? I would be all for it.

Sorry to put you down but in reality Nintendo probably won't listen to your game idea. But I may be wrong if you don't wanna give up on your dream idea send it to Nintendo if you haven't already done so.

In any case, I was planning on mailing my video game idea to the Nintendo company, but not before I get enough support. I'll know when I have enough backing to give it a go. |
