I knew someone would get smart and realize that you don't really need any media including blu-ray. Everything will be stored to your own personal on-line database. This is the way movies are going to go as well. I like to keep my house clutter free, I can't wait for all my media to just be online. The only thing that needs media is portables like DS and PSP.

This was posted on the 1st so this is obviously a fake since when MGS4 comes out its gonna be on a 50gig blu ray disc and even if you try to download it from their store it will take days maybe weeks since its a 1080p 50 gig game.

 why would you guys think this was april fools joke? YES all games you BUY in a STORE need blu-ray but if you read the article its says youre DOWNLOADING the games you dont buy them at a store. Sony will just take off the blu-ray and post the games on its network making it so that it doesnt need blu-ray. The only thing that i question is speed. Imagine those who have DSL and get a speed of 1 meg a second it will take FOREVER to download 2 gigs.

Guys - wake up and smell the coffee.. this is indeed an April's fools joke. The download times for some games (like the 4 disk games) would be immense. Not only that - you'd still need to store it somewhere. You'd need a 500g harddrive to handle some games.
And come on- look at the spokesperson's name "Aperelli Doorichka?" Please.... that has to mean "April Fools" in some language... |
