metroid vs super metroid

After running through another game of super metroid i have to ask, which old school metroid game did you think was better?

Which one was longer, had more items to collect, more bosses,better music and sound effects, if you had to choose either one, which one would you pick, and why?

Not only that, keep in mind that the controllers were different on both consoles, so gameplay was greatly effected because of those factors.

Metroid, nes

Was purple or brown even existant back then??

Super metroid, Snes

Clearly better graphics and layout of

Super Metroid by far. The original Metroid (NES) was too hard, and had way too much backtracking. The biggest improvement from the NES to the SNES was the saving system. This took away a lot of the annoying wasted time trying to figure out where you were the last time you played.

Also there's the obvious graphics, sound, weapons improvements. The original Metroid is cool, don't get me wrong, but I'll probably never play it again in my lifetime, whereas Super Metroid I might.

I'd also comment between the two, but i've hardly even touched the nes metroid, i played it for about 2 minutes before i stopped, does it even allow you to save or was it passworded? Also, did the nes metroid even have dialogue or any form of story?

super metroid defently. its so much harder, the maps are bigger, the game is ahrder, its just a way more of a chalenge! but perosnly im fond of the orignals, but none the less im gunna have to vote super metroid

Super metroid definetly!Metorid was too frustating and confusing!*no map*While super metroid does things so much better.I would like go into the details,but there is just to much good to say about this game!It's easily one of the top metroid games and on my list of "best games of all time"!

I can tell you i've had the feeling before, on the bright side, im glad this is actually a hardcore series, BY NINTENDO, if only the game's were longer :/

metroid prime 2 and 3 were long, as was metroid fusion. I'm a metroid master so I know just about every little thing about metroid I'll be doing a comparing the primes in a reveiw in a few days.


-EDIT- oh and I vote super metroid, that was the 1st metroid game I ever played and possibly the 1st video game I ever played. Loved it and it will always be, the best snes game of all time.
