In general I'd agree, but the fact that he missed it because he had more important obligations and took them above the tournament is generally a good sign about his overall development as a human being.

Heck, the first match I planned wtih Amby had to be postponed because a girl I know took me on a surprise date. That was one of the most pleasantly confusing experiences I've had all... month.

Congrats, that definitely warrants postponing a smash match. Still, getting it done in the first opportunity one has is the best way to avoid the later disruptions that may occur for the unknown cir***stances you may wind up having.
