Cheating will be impossible because there will be scheduled matches depending on the situation, and its not cheating if someone does run and attack, simply because that is a strategy and one should be able to beat it if one is better. So I really don't see any issues with that, and as long as it is thoroughly planned out.. there shouldn't be any problems. Of course we could always have a "beta" ranking system to try it out, with like 2 matches with each player or something like that. But traditional rankings tends to work best, especially cause you can't really cheat in super smash brothers brawl. You can get lucky... but not cheat.

How does magically tripping less than 1 inch away from Ganondorf's Warlock Punch sound? If I hadn't of tripped, I think I would have been K.O.'d.

But yes, camping is not cheating, but I think we can all play on the moral code of being fair.

I don't know how you could magically trip....but it's your fault if you get hit by that attack especially since its super slow and easy to evade. But I definitely think it is very likely that we will all try to be fair in any case.

Just a notice on this topic from the Halberd Knights Clan.

The Halberd Knights Clan, because of the opinions given in this thread, is asking all new members to post an S-F rating on their estimated skill level upon joining the clan. The rank has no complex ranking system, and rankings are decided by new members as they choose to join, subject to change at any time of their choosing. This is done in order to make sure that if you are in the Halberd Knights Clan, and people list their skill levels accurately, you can easily find opponents that will challenge but not overpower you.

this thread isn't for talking about the clans so lets stick with talking about the ranking system. In any case ranking yourself doesn't help because unless you actually have true statistics that identify how good you are, you can think you are the best player in the world, but most likely your not.

Thats not how it works though in the hallbird system. You come up with an origional estimate and, if you lose to someone lower than you a couple times, then you move down and they move up. you continue this process untill all the people in the hallbird knights or any other group are actualy where they were suposed to be and after that you can jsut move on up. Therefore, even if you think your amazing and make yourself an S rank, people will own you and make you move down on the scale.
