Super Mario Galaxy Gameplay Question...

Ok. I dont usually buy mairo games. So i have questions. How do we know if we beaten the level already. The guy said we can replay the stages. Does it tell you where to go next? because when i was watching the video i saw alot of stages. The Main thing is that How would you find your way in the game. like do you have to keep backtracking like in Metroid Prime 3? Yeah I dont like to be lost.

they said that when u play a level...before u play that level u are launched there or something...and when mario is getting launched...he leaves a trail...if the trail is no color...then u havent been there before...and if the trail he leaves his blue...you have already been to that part of the galaxy

oh ok thanks man. Yeah because I wouldnt know where to go and then I'll get stuck and then its gonna be like Zelda where i aint gonna play it anymore

every time u beat a level you fly to the enxt planet

palnet=level
galaxy=world
theres usaly like 5 levels in each world...atleast in the clasic marios thats how it was...my euss is that theres 5 plaents in any given galaxy

Ah, overview since I already have the game and I have around 3-4 Mario games

There are basically 5 different galaxies you have to go through. Some contain 2 or 3 planets and each planet is basically a level. The horrible thing is you cant save your game unless you actually PASS a level. When you defeat the ultimate uhh...monster thing at the end, that's the end of that one planet. Do you 2 or 3 more times and you finish a galaxy. Other Mario games weren't as confusing though, cause we actually had a save entry point.

You dont get to save whenever you want but as long as its in my hands when it comes out

The object of each level is to gain stars to advance. There are 120 stars in the game, but the ign.com review said you only need 60 to get to Bowser and beat the game.

So, really, you can go through each level, get a star, then advance forward. But for us freaks who aren't satisfied until we've got EVERYTHING, we replay levels to get all the stars.

And if its anything like Mario 64, it will tell you your objective when you enter a level. If/when you re-enter the level, it will give you a new objective.
