I think the main reason all these have been so easy is because of this new setup people are just trying it out and future games will up the anti so to speak

Galaxy has pushed platformers to a new level with the way the worlds are set up and all. But it has nothing on sunshine now Mario game ever will. That was the most brillaint game ever

i honestly thought sunshine wasnt that great. fun and decent, but not my fav. galaxy WAS easy for sure, but the level designs were so awesome i didnt really care haha. but yeah, i hope the next mario game is harder...along with the next zelda.

What I hope they do is look at what they did right in this mario, and then incorporate it into the gameplay style from the older ones. Perhaps somehow they could find a way to combine open levels with gravity effects. They should to the same with Zelda, stop and think a moment about everything they did right in the games before and sort of combine it. I think Zelda OOT (which I think we unanimously agree is the best) only got so good because it was viewed as its own game and it stood free of any silly gimmicks. Sure Gimmicks (like dark world and gravity effects) are fun, but they make the game seem to much like its just part of the series. Kind of like any movie trilogy, the one in the middle just isnt as good as the first and last. They ought to make the next Zelda game with: An original(ish) plot, new zelda style weapons, and a lot of Dungeons with well designed puzzles. Something I've noticed about the newer ones is that the dungeons are all far more linear. In OOT, you were free to (try to) go to any part of the dungeon from the start, but some paths were blocked because of a challenge you had not completed r a weapond you did not have. Forest Temple for example. There are 4 exits to the first main room, and even an extra secret one going to the boss. Water Temple went everywhere. In fact, mario made the same problem with its newer levels. They were very linear. Huh.

I personally enjoy WW more then OoT...but that's just me. I think OoT is a great game but I had more fun sailing in WW.

Nintendo intentionally made the game easier so that casual gamers could beat it with the minimum of 60 stars. Then they threw in the Purple Coins so that everyone who wanted the game to be harder would be appeased. I think it's a pretty neat way to appeal to both sides of the gaming spectrum--the noobs to the hardcore gamers.
Btw, the 120 Luigi stars are supposed to be harder as well.
