Augh. Starwars clearly presents an exception to this because it is not run off of a plot, but various sub plots that form together to make a realistic science fiction universe. For example, the clone wars could be considered a plot in star wars. The fall of the jedi in episodes 1-3 could be considered a plot in star wars. Their rise again at the training of Luke after Vader defeats the Dark Emperor is a plot. They keep it interesting by working in such a way that there are always new characters to introduce and new events to show in such a way that no one episode of it feels like 'that one in the middle where some stuff happens'.
This is the main reason Star Wars is among the most famous fictions of all time. It doesn't have one universal plot, it just has one universe in which an endless number of stories unfold, all working into each other. For example, Wraith Squadron is about Wedge Antilles in his workings to make a better star team. This is the same Wedge Antilles that helped destroy the first Death Star. Aside from that, by working the way they did to create such an elaborate world, many many opportunities for good games ect are opened. Things such as KOTOR ect. In fact, I once complained to a friend about how a 3rd Starwars Battlefront should be made, and he pointed out to me that all the major battles and plot were covered in number 2, leaving no material for them to put in a third game. But starwars doesn't just have that one plot. Room is left for countless battles yet untold that are, at the moment, faded into the background of the starwars saga. The whole point of this rant is that there is no middle book in star wars. Its all an elaborate universe in which no one part is the beggining or end, but a beggining or an end. And I think the discussion in this thread is bascially dead now. Its mostly just people coming in and saying the same thing, that Galaxy is too easy, they need to stop leading players by the nose, and we want our open levels back. SCREW YOU MIYAMOTO. HAVE YE NO DIGNITY LEFT IN THIS INDUSTRY?

Nice one Megaman, I agree with your Star Wars synopsis. Sounds like you have written about that before perhaps on a term paper?

Nah. I'm just a starwars fan. So far I haven't gotten into anything but the movies (Huge fan of them all, including 4-6 which I have probably seen more times than the others) and the games. I am starting to lose interest in Wheel of Time though, and for my next series I am either looking into Starwars or the Drizzt stuff.

I think the reason people have had an easy time going back and smashing the older Mario 64 is because at the time it was a new style of control the first 360 degree control of Mario since we have had more so more practice at these types of games, thanks for letting me add my 2 cents!
