Internet Battles and Lag

I really need to train with Snake against some human players, the CPU's know EVERY SINGLE FREAKING MOVE!!!!!
Im sick of them knowing exactly how to avoid each move, Snake is way better against humans.
The only thing is I cant find battles and I lag ALOT when I play with my friends.
SO my router is 2-3 rooms away, same floor, is it too far away?

It might be, or your friends just lag.

i actually saw a video on youtube of a guy playing brawl on dail up. there werent any screen freezes/ pauses in gameplay but his 2 min match lasted in brawl time lasted 3 min in real time so the game was just going at a slower pace but i was still impressed with the dail up XD

I have the same problem using DSL...my Wii is about 2 rooms apart. When I joined a 2vs2 battle, it lagged, but when i got off they said it was fine. I got cable internet installed today, and gonna try wired instead of wireless.

yeah you should try getting the wired adapter instead of wireless if you're having lots of troubles with it and you can't move your wireless router.

My router is like a room and a half away and I never get lag. I also have about the cheapest router you can get (netgear WGR614). How many bars does your Wii pick up when you connect it to the internet? If you get less than 3 bars you should probably move the router closer.

I usually don't lag, but I hate it when other people do. I feel bad that I can't play with them cause it frustrates me.

Should I just do a test connection to see if it gets at least 3 bars?

That's probably a good idea.

Have you gone through the Internet Help sticky?
