Olimar sucks...? WHAT!?

It hasn't been an uncommon comment in today's Brawling society. Everyone seems to think Olimar sucks and/or is worthless to play with.

What are you guys talking about?! Srsly. Olimar is NOT a bad character, and in fact he is sometimes cheap if known how to be used.

So someone please tell me how he sucks???

he really isn't that bad other then poor recovery move

Fun tip about Olimar's recovery (Up+B): Not only does it rise Olimar up upon activation (similar to Yoshi's Egg Toss, although I'm sure you guys knew this already), having a purple Pikmin at the front of your chain can stump edgeguarders. Due to the knockback properties of Purples, instead of them sticking to opponents like the other colors, the opponent will be knocked off and you can grab the edge. Reds can do this too, but the knockback isn't quite as great and your chances of latching to the edge are significantly decreased...

Anyway, away from my Olimar nerdiness haha...I really love playing as him. His physics are really challenging to control if you're playing online though. The misconception that Olimar "sucks" comes from at least one of three things: Thinking Pikmin Throw is the only thing to do, underestimating his size/appearance, and/or not knowing how to properly use his Pikmin. If you can overcome the last of the three, and perform well, I'm sure you'll begin to like Olimar a lot more ^_^

Well yeah his recovery move ain't that great, but other than that, he's actually a really good character.

Who ever told you olimar sucks should try fighting him once in awhile, he's really cheap most of the time, not cheap, but really strong, he's got great smash attack's and special moves, also, if anyone hadn't noticed, when you use your down+b the pikmin switch order making it easier to get back to the color's you want for the situation

Well I dont like olimar cuz his moves stink what I like about Olimar is when I steal his power and use his b attack against him its really annoying to my friend

having any pikmin can stop edge guarders with the pikmin chain. oh and if u know how to use olimar properly, he can be a real itch

Ja, purples and reds are just the best to knock away opponents and have the highest of the 5 chances to grab the edge too. Of that one move, of course.
