I wish Super Mario All-Stars would be placed in the SNES catagory, because as much as I love SMB3 as my fav, I cannot save and restart levels as I used to on the ALL-STARS version. The NES version will only continue as you leave to the Wii Menu, and pick up where you left off, but there's no other save feature for the 8-bit version.
Why not just put All-Stars up instead people? Let us save again.. OR... you (Nintendo) can ADD a SAVE GAME feature to ALL 8-BIT games that saves to system memory just like everything else. PLEASE?? Anyone who believes this is a good decision, please shout out and reply on this thread... letting Nintendo know that this is what they should do for the 8-bit games that can't save. Thanks.

Considering all the games that are on SB All-stars is already on the VC, not gonna happen.
But more importantly, why? Last I checked, SB All-Stars just let you have 4 save files of the same game (example being 4 different games for SMB2).

Okay so what's wrong with that if you have multiple people in your household? You must play alone to not worry about it. Another REAL reason is that the graphics are more crisp and enjoyable backgrounds in places there was none, and much better textures for the old tiles.
All-Stars is a far-superior set of games to their 8-bit originals, for a change. It will always be one of the truly greatest SNES titles of all time. Hence its name. You can't beat it. Only have I played Zelda : Link to the Past as much.

I never said there was something wrong with it; I just asked why it's so important to have? Not to mention that those games can be beat in about 75 minutes? I mean, if you don't know what you're doing, then that changes things obviously. But considering most of us have played those games before, we know them well enough to complete them that fast. I would imagine that someone can wait 2 or 3 days for you to beat the game so they can have a turn; if they can't, well they're just impatient. Did I mention (excluding SMB2) there's a 2-player mode?

Some of us, I speak for the 30's ages.. I'm 34, almost 35.... we like to wade through these games at our own pace and enjoy the scenes and actions, reliving the good ol' days when that was all there really was. I play through those games regularly and never grow bored of them.
I however am married and must leave the games often so I think that having ONE copy of SNES All-Stars on the VC is better than the seperate 8-bit games. Might as well.
