i this is a problem for Nintendo. and it shouldn't say fat. especially since it doesn't measure it right. cause alot of people are very fit, and it probably would call them fat. so it should be fixed, but people are also get offended too easily.

Well I totally know what you mean about girls being sensitive about their weight. I went to play Wiifit at my cousins house and it said we were both over weight

Me: 5'2" 116

Friend: 5'5" 127

We are both girls and I didn't care, she was kind of shocked but the difference between us is that she eats a lot of junk and stays skinny. I watch what I eat and exercise... and were were both called fat. xD After telling her that the game is innacurate she was completely fine with it.

But the little girl needs to learn to not give in to a GAME'S opinions. The parents aslo need to teach her that she should have a stronger mind. My parents taught me not to care about what other people tell me, and I know i'm not fat, so I really don't care.

In my opinion, Nintendo is in the right, the parents and the kid are in the wrong...

My goodness, it's a game! If I was called underweight, I would walk into the kitchen and eat a cookie, not go sulk in a corner and tell my daddy.

But really, if this girl is told she's fat, and she might be a little bit overweight, she should be responsible for herself and go play outside, and eat something healthy, instead of wasting her time showing her father the calculation and have him complain to Nintendo. What are they gonna do about it? Ban the whole game because one little girl was called fat by a videogame that can't even see what she even looks like! I wouldn't trust a videogame. The balance board isn't even a real scale.
My point is, the game is fine. It's the girl problem, not the game's.

My question comes down to society.

Everything tells us what to look like, act like and be like. Magazines, TV and now videogames are telling us not to be F---A---T. Perish the thought.

There should be some kind of revolt. I think I should make a magazine that promotes fatness. Oh, wait, porn dealers are doing that all the time with magazines like Juggies. Never mind.

The whole situation is unreal. My daughter is a swimmer too! She is like a brick wall because she is all muscle. Her BMI was normal on WiiFit. What I find to be a shame is how our schools calculate BMI. They base it on age and weight. They don't even look at height! They sent home a note telling me that my daughter was overweight. I started cracking up hysterically. I showed her the note, shared with her the evils of the improperly calculated stupidity of our school system. (I think a toothpick would have more width than she does.) Personally, we both had a great chuckle. (Darn, maybe I should have sued our school for stupidity! Another missed opportunity!)

If you have a lot of muscle mass due to hardcore sports like swimming or cross country, explain to people that the weight is based on the average couch potato! That is all that it takes. If people are still feeling down about themselves then they should go see their doctor. People need to learn to have a sense of humor. All these charts are just statistics and people need to understand that there are exceptions to baseline statistics. In other words, statistics are not perfect so move on with your life.
