First off if you "STEAL" a copyright then you deserve to get punished...Anascape isn't stealing money from Sony, MS, Or Nintendo's wallet...the three of them were trying to take a technology that they didn't create and make a profit off it...that's not cool and Illegal...

and this company sued Nintendo the day the Wii came out...court cases involving MILLIONS of dollars aren't settled in a 20 minute dispute on Judge Judy...they didn't "wait till the Wii got big" top sue...it just now came out that Nintendo lost the lawsuit, which they shouldv'e for stealing technology...

Yes stealing is wrong, I agree there. I should of used a different word like take by force I guess. If they all took the idea from taht company and didnt pay shame on them, just shame on the whole nintendo world. However, I was just shocked at how long it took, let me explain.

You said it was over the gamecube controller and the classic, but the gamecube controller was out well before the wii. So yes this "case" may of started when the wii came out (even if it was day one as you say), but in my post I clearly say that the GameCube had been out a long time. THus the gamecube controller has been out a long time, i never said anything about the wii being out a long time

So if they are going to court over the gamecube controller, why now? why not when the gamecube first came out years ago? This case should of been started long before the wii even came out. No they waited till the wii came out to sue the gamecube controler....I smell crap

but yes, shame on nintendo for using the same idea they used for the gamecube controllers....although it did not seem to be a problem when they first came out. Its not that I really care, i have gamecube controllers and I am good to go, and I am sure it did not hurt nintendos deep, deep pockets. I just think it sounds a little fishy thats all.

I have to agree while punishment should be dealt with for copyright infringement (in this case Nintendo's GC and clasic controller stealing from Anascape) why is it that they decide now to sue and not when the GC came out. I gotta admit while Nintendo should be punished I'm skeptical about Anascape too.

Thank you taco, that is all I am trying to say. if nintendo broke the law, then they pay, but why wait so long. And this company did this to sony to so they know what they are doing to win these cases. I am not saying they are wrong, but something just doesnt feel right. I am just happy to see that someone sees where I am coming from

Anascape originally Sued Nintendo back in 2005 at the same time they sued Sony and MS for the same thing...Copyright infringement, MS took out thier pocketbook and settled out of court with a $49 million check to Anascape (Pocket change to MS), Sony and Nintendo both went to court with the "Go ahead Sue me attitude I got more money then your company"..Sony lost the lawsuit and was ordered to pay them $40 million (this is why the PS3 didn't have rumble at first, because SONY was going through the lawsuit) and Sony's ended with them losing thier appeal and having to pay the money...then the courts FINALLY went to Nintendo's case four years later...and ordered them to pay Anascape as well...

Anascape didn't wait untill the Wii was huge to sue, it just the case took it's time to go through the courts, as anyone who has been in a court case knows they can take a long time (ask R. Kelly about his 6 year court case)...

although I hate when companies file a patent and copyright and then don't do anything with it...I think that's bad business but in this case...Nintendo was definately in the wrong...

It's not nintendo's fault, I doubt they knew there was a patent for it already, and if it's only for the classic and gc analog sticks, then won't nintendo just replace those with the ones in the nunchuk or make a new type of analog stick. Nintendo's the only one that loses anything out of this not us.

I'm almost positive Nintendo knew there was a patent for this already...BIG companies have really overpriced Lawyers that go search for this stuff before they make it...nintendo either figured thier technology was different enough that it wasn't a copy...or that this company wouldn't have the balls to sue a big bad corporation...

Still though if I recall the Gamecube was launched in 2001 alongside the GC controller so are you telling me that Anascape decided just to wait to file a lawsuit and sue Nintendo for 4 years? I'm not saying Nintendo is right or anything but I think there is more to the case on Anascape's side. I mean if Anascape made a huge deal about sueing these companies because of copyright infringement why did they wait for a whole 4 years to decide to sue? The same goes for all the other companies too while they might of infringed upon Anascape why is it that they wait a few years to even begin to file a lawsuit after the console launchs which come with the infringed or stolen controllers?

Did you ever think that maybe it's espensive to sue someone, especially THREE different companies at once...maybe they had to make money and hire a lawyer team...I dont' know why they hated but it really doesn't matter the reason they did...at that matters is Thier hard work was Stolen from them by Nintendo, Sony, and MS and they rightfully made these companies pay...
