Ninty Confirms Wii’s Big Hitters For Japan In 2007
Heard something like this before. Here ya go:
Nintendic » Ninty confirms Wii’s big hitters for Japan in 2007 ================================================== =============================== Ninty confirms Wii’s big hitters for Japan in 2007 Posted in Wii, Games, Nintendo DS, Rumors by Andrew Macarthy on May 1st, 2007 at 19:30 Last week, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata held a press conference to natter on about the company’s financial situation (in a word: great) and to outline the Big N’s plans for the year ahead. He revealed that a total of 45 Wii and 79 DS games were in development. Afterwards, IGN managed to attain more detailed financial documents, giving us all a more detailed look at what gamers can expect over the next twelve months. The document officially reveals that Nintendo will be releasing the following games for the Nintendo Wii in Japan over the course of this year (only one with a definite release date, mind you): Donkey Kong Taru Jet Race (DK Jet or DK Bongo Blast, US) - June 28, 2007 Wii Health Pack — 2007 Disaster: Day of Crisis - 2007 Mario Party 8 - 2007 Project H.A.M.M.E.R. - 2007 Wii Music - 2007 Super Mario Galaxy - 2007 Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 2007 Battalion Wars II - 2007 Forever Blue - 2007 Mario Strikers Charged - 2007 Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - 2007 Mario and Sonic at the Olympics - 2007 The list confirms that Nintendo is planning to unleash all of its announced big guns in Japan before the year is out, including key software such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the latter of which had been delayed for an unspecified time in order for it to be perfected (or to give the company time to add online features as has been rumoured to quite an extent already). Other titles such as Wii Music and Wii Health Pack, although taking a back seat in comparison to some of the others, are just as important in Nintendo’s strategy in showing off the Wii’s unique potential. IGN also stresses that other titles listed within the document including Mario Party 8, Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree already have release dates in North America (May 29 and June 11 respectively), while the likes of Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, Mario Strikers Charged and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption are also almost guaranteed to reach the territory before 2007 ticks over into 2008. In addition, the games portal suggests that Nintendo’s vague ‘2007′ listing attributed to many of the listed games could mean that they arrive earlier in the year than expected, particularly since Nintendo’s release schedule past Q2 is anybody’s guess. Mario drags the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Gang to the shops one by one! While the Sony PlayStation 3 has limped out of the starting blocks and isn’t the all-conquering machine that so many thought it would be from the off, the Nintendo Wii’s greatest rival is the Microsoft Xbox 360 with its established user base and steady flow of impressive titles. IGN proposes that Nintendo might utilise the might of its biggest franchises against the Halo 3s and Mass Effects of this world in order to counteract against the competition as the year draws on. With so much software in development for its two major platforms, who knows what Nintendo has up its sleeve? Whatever comes next, to see so many of the company’s most anticipated titles receive firm 2007 releases is certainly a relief! ================================================== ===============================
