LucasArts: Wii lightsaber experience this fall
Ever since the concept for the Nintendo Wii surfaced and its motion sensitivity detailed, one of the biggest prospects for the technology was the hope of wielding the remote as a lightsaber in a Star Wars videogame. After a lot of silence, the dream is slowly becoming a reality, with LucasArts’ Jim Ward commenting at a recent Q&A session.
Here’s what the LucasArts employee was heard uttering at the Hollywood & Games Summit: N’Gai Croal - “What would it take to make a lightsaber game for the Wii?” LucasArts’ Jim Ward - “We’re all over that, and internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there - (the entire concept is)…in place! There’ll be some stuff out this Fall - it’s going to be a lot of fun.” For a short insight into what gamers might be able to expect from the firm’s next Star Wars title, check out the following YouTube video in which an Apple Mac program is used to re-create the motions of a lightsaber through the Wii Remote.

i think it would be freaking awseome to use 2 wiimotes for 2 lightsabers!!! and then if you were really good tape 2 wiimotes to your feet and 2 in your hands and then you could play as general grevious !!!!! of course thats not going to happen.

who knows....it could happen
i hope the way they make the lightsaber is that u cant just make little preset movements already incripted into the data....i hate how with the wiimote if u would have a sword in redsteel you cant only go diagonal, side to side or up and down...it gives you no freedom at all....they should give u more freedom so however you use ur wiimote would be like in the game ya its hard to understand....but im sure u know wat i mean
