well i got mine on launch week. waited some 8 hours in the morning on line. they gave out 100 tickets, i was 60.
i been watching ebay closely and i think that they aren't making **** loads of money because the economy evens out eventually. A lot of the post on ebay are bundled with extras, so the price goes up. Thats the part that sucks, especially if you just want the system and like to customize it yourself later. The systems that sell by themselves average to maybe 30 - 50 bucks more than the retail cost i think, but a lot of times it won't break 300 for just the wii alone brand new in a box. so if you wait it out on ebay, you can get a nice deal just for the system. either way, you have to wait somewhere, somehow. get a program that does ebay sniping and set it to max bid of 300 and just let the program do the bidding, you don't even have to be there. Craigslist is probably your best bet, just get a used one for cheaper, sometimes you can get crazy deals with extras and pay like 50 more than retail. My friend just got a ps3, with 4 games for 450. okay, yea ps3 bleh, but wateva, if he bought it new, he would have paid like 700 for everything, games are expensive. I don't think its nintendo fault, they couldn't expect this. not even halo3 , with the hype and money microsoft put into it, is having this kind of success. Its just something that happened. I just think its the market, economy, and capitalism in effect, and what happens when you give this power to the masses. everyone with a nintendo wii thinks they are a lil store lol. mho.
