3 New Wii Channels to Launch Sometime in 2008!!

Everybody's Nintendo Channel

The Everybody's Nintendo Channel (Minna No Nintendo Channel in Japan) allows Wii users to watch trailers for games and download demos and game patches for the Nintendo DS. In this capacity the channel works in a similar way to a DS Download Station. Users can also rate games that they have played, and a search feature is also available to assist users in finding new games to try. Videos such as interviews, trailers, and commercials are also available on the channel. This channel went live in Japan on November 27, 2007. This channel is not yet available outside of Japan. Nintendo has announced that this channel will be releasing to North America, but a target release date has yet to be announced.


Wii Fit Channel

In coordination with their announcement of Wii Fit at E3 2007, Nintendo also issued a press release which stated that users of the game would be able to compare their results and progress on a new channel on the Wii Menu. Instead of having to play the game itself, this new Wii Channel allows the player to see their results and compare with others. This channel was released with Wii Fit, which was released on December 1, 2007 in Japan. It has not been released outside of Japan.


Future channels

TV Program Guide Channel

The TV Program Guide Channel allows Wii users to check what programs are on television. Content will be provided by G-Guide and is set to launch in March 2008 in Japan. The Channel is said to be "very fun and Nintendo-esque". The Channel was also suggested to be launched in North America in May 2008, but Nintendo currently has no plans to release it in that region.

Wow, gettin a little more channels, eh? Maybe..... but anyways, sounds nice, except the Wii Fit channel. Probably wont get that anyways. And we can find out what TV programs come on from channel 99 on cable lol

Agravain 3, If you went to the source, this was on Wikipedia and also I saw this on many other sites like Nintendic or Nintendofanboy and some more. I also read this interview with Reggie and he said that the first 2 channels are out now in Japan(ONLY). The future Channel ( Tv-Guide Channel) is confirmed to Launch in Japan in 2008(date not yet confirmed). They have no plans right now to realease the TV Guide Channel but they will realease the Other 2 channels some time in 2008.

Yeah me too because I don't have a DS instead have a PSP. If we get Wii Downloads I will download that Channel and also I will download the TV Guide Channel for sure and maybe the wii fit channel if we get this as Reggie said.

I like the new channels they will help me see what is on tv and preview new games that I have NMo idea what they are about. I think Nintendo is on to something with their channels but they need a harddrive now.

I agree with wiifro but Everyone's Nintendo Channel would still seem pretty cool, the other ones don't interest me too much because you can check the TV Guide online and I don't plan on getting WiiFit.

I think the tv guide channel sounds rediculous. Why not just look on the tv?
