Wii To Bypass Lifetime GameCube Sales Within Next Few Weeks

add another year and four mouths and it think the wii will sell 40 million units by then.

Everyone's saying that third-party support for the Wii will eventually be dropped, thus causing the Wii's reign to stop, and it looks pretty likely. Nintendo's own games are eclipsing third-party titles, so they aren't making much money. :/

the wii has such a large market and apeals from evryone pretty much from age5-65 lol. my grandma loves wiisports, and lvoes playing with my 5 year old cousin...i dont think any other game console has ever had a mrket this big.

Yes, the wii has a lot of potential that the Gamecube did not. Mostly because it got 3 good games in its first 6 months, which means that it has as many games in its first half year as the gamecube does to this day.

Thats because all the third party contribution so far has been moronic. The games have been dulled down tot he point that they arent worth playing.

Especially since all those 3rd party market *****s thrive off of selling games to people that don't know any better. Meaning, they target the parents of 10 year old kids, rather than 15 year old kids who buy their own games.

This means that, on the wii especially, they wont be focusing on quality, but on how quickly they can stab the new gimmick to death. In this case, its the motion sensing. I have yet to see a good third party game on the wii that doesn't overuse motion sensing to a fault. If you don't believe me, look up a Spiderman 3 review. Spiderman 2 was great, probably the only good superhero game in a very, very long time. And then came Spiderman 3. It was not only worse for its time and expectations, but just flat out worse.

this time next year the PS3 will be in second place and the Wii in third...

Maybe your thinking that the Wii appeals to people ages five & 65. All the games I've seen have either been fit to amuse a toddler or help those old people bowl like in the Wii commercials.... I wish the Wii had better 3rd party support.

yeah i doubt most todlers would even be able to comprehend these games, let alone enjoy them

Driver was a crappy game, but all those others are great! No more heroes shows that there is definitely still hope for third party support on the Wii.

I cant wait till we finally get more RPGs.

My life was empty back when I played Nintendo full time.

I would play a game, and then be done with it, UNTIL THAT FATEFUL DAY (That I am about to describe so you can all complain about how no one asked or cares.)

BUT ON THAT FATEFUL DAY... My cousim Marty bought a multitap for his old playstation... only to find that it was not compatible...

At first I didn't find much use for it... the only games I had were an old Need For Speed game and some other game that I dont even remember, meaning it probably wasn't worth mention...

I experienced an epiphany of video gaming...

I discovered Final Fantasy 10..

Recalling fond memories of the few Final Fantasy games on the Super Nintendo, I began to play constantly...

Soon I beat the game, and got ultimate weapons with every character, beating the final boss in only one hit on my first try ever...

But it wasn't enough...

I began to thirst for more and more RPG games until eventually it grew out of control...

After beating Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Quest 64, FF 1,3,5,10, most of 12, and Chrystal Chronicles, I began to realize something...

Most of the good RPG's are released to Sony... who's new system costed 500 more dollars than I could afford...

At that moment, a part of my mind died knowing that it would be another full generation of gaming before I could finally get to experience wonderful things like... level ups... and haste effects... and Critical strikes...

To this day, I sit waiting faithfully for something worth playing to walk by...

Oh, and I also got WoW, so I'll probably be spending a lot less time on wiispace from here on out

And THAT is the story of what happens to faithful nintendo fans when their master does not meet their daily need of RPG games.

But now Megaman can be saved, because the Wii is getting Tales of Symphonia. Maybe you can help me throw the party. -.-
