Review: Super Paper Mario
Wii Review

Story: Well, I have to admit: for a Mario game, this story is pretty good. The evil Count Bleck is trying to take over ALL worlds, and you are trying to stop him. Ok, so maybe it's not an epic story like in say a Zelda game, but it's a nice change from the now "usual" Mario storyline. A few twists here and there, with tons of humor, I give the story an 8/10.

Graphics: When you get a Paper Mario game, you should not be expecting Xbox 360 graphics. Even though the graphics are not amazing, the art work definetly are. All of the characters designs in the game are also nice changes, and I love the scenery. My only problem with the graphics are that when you are in 3-d (see below), the artwork is no where near as beautiful as in 2-d. 9/10.

Gameplay: This Paper Mario, unlike previous in the series, is half platformer, half RPG. The turn based battle system has been dropped, which is a good thing in my opinion. The best gameplay mechanic of all is of course the flipping between the 2nd and 3rd dimensions. This brand new gameplay mechanic is fun and is used in creative puzzles throughout the game. 9.5/10.

Controls: For Super Paper Mario the Wii Remote is held sideways, with your right hand near the 2 button. you move using the arrow keys, jump with the 2 button, use the A button to switch between dimensions, and the 1 button is to use special moves. I think that these controls work extremely well for this game. The only time that you will be using the Wii's motion controls is for some items and to get style points, which level you up faster. 9/10.

Sound: This game includes absolutely no voice acting, which was a good choice on Nintendo's part. The music is mostly fun new remixes of Mario Classics, with some new arrangements as well. They are all very enjoyable. 8.5/10.

Overall: 9/10. This game is funny, has a fresh storyline, and is overall one of the best games on the Wii right now. It is definetly worth the money it costs.

i must say, the best part of this game was the humor in the story...there were many times i would be cracking up on some of the lines in this game...especially the crags.

I would have rather seen Paper Mario 3 than this. I didn't like the transition to much.

I love this game and gave it a good review a while ago

I remember one part you had to fight one of Cpunt Blek's assistants (the dumb one) and if he knocked you down, he'd do a little dance, and one time, Mario was on the ground, and the guy was near the "rear" of him, doing his dance.

Let's just say, if all I saw was that, I'd give it an "AO" rating

i was gonna rent this game to check it out before buying it but now i think i'll just save the $10 rental fee and buy the game. sounds awesome!

its fun but i believe the other paper mario's and more humor in it.
super paper mario is a really good game but the only problem i have with the game is the replay value.

the games fun the first time but there is alot of parts that are boring so its tough to actually beat the game 2 or more times
