iPod Touch App Reviews- Monkey Island, Topple 2

Hey guys, it's Q here again, bringing you another set of apps to review. Enjoy!

The Secret of Monkey Island- Special Edition

Ever skeptical of a game before you buy it, then, after you buy it, before playing, you regret it? Well, that was true for me, but I don't regret it. Well, I sort of do. This is your standard point-and-click game, made better with Touch controls. The controls are ok, and instead of actually touching the part of the screen you wish to go to/use, you have to drag a cursor over, and click it. It takes about 30 minutes to get used to, but once you get used to it, it still gets annoying. Now, let's move on to the main game. You are Guybrush Threepwood (Weird name), and you want to be a pirate. You start on Melee Island, and slowly figure out about and make your way to Monkey Island. You also have the option to view the old game, or, how it was viewed when it was released for older consoles. It's price is very high for an iPod app, so if you aren't a hardcore fan of the game series or genre, think before buying. Overall, I like this game, but it's one of those games where, once you get stuck, you don't want to bother going on, but once you understand things, until you hit that roadblock, it ill keep you entertained for hours.

Topple 2

I bet you're wondering... Why not review the first Topple? What happened to that? Well, itonly has a few levels, and is pretty much Topple 2 lite, so I will not review it.

This is sort of like Tetris, only instead of stacking and eliminating blocks, you're just stacking them. You hold the iPod vertically, and touch and drag your blocks to positions and stack them depending on the mode. You cannot select your mode for the most part, because your main campaign mode is just a collection of modes. One of my favorite modes is a 'save the egg' mode, where you stack a tower to the sky, make an egg land on your tower, and eliminate each block one by one by tapping them, and making sure the egg lands with minimal cracks. It's my favorite mode in the game. The game gets harder by adding more varied and more difficult to stack blocks. All in all, this is a great game, and for a dollar, it's a steal! But you may want to try Topple 1 before buying, just to be sure.
