Well, thanks Cobrabry and others. I finally figured it out. I was doing two things wrong. Firstly, i didnt realize i had to jerk the fishing line upward when the bobble goes out of my field of vision, and secondly, to pull the fish in by pulling the wii mote further away from the sensor as opposed to just pulling up out of the water.
I got it down now. Got my slingshot, got my wooden sword, and free'd that little hill billy and his monkey. Now, its time to move forward. ps - fishing is still stupid. |

I do have to say that for I side note in a massively entertaining game, fishing is remarkably accurate. I mean, it really shouldn't have been too hard to figure out, becuase it's a lot like if you were doing it in real life. You have to pull up fast to hook the fish, and you have to pull the wiimote towards you like pulling the fish towards shore. It really couldn't be more intuitive.
Anyone out there who hasn't played Zelda yet, don't let this thread put you off. Fishing actually is fairly easy and fun, and Incursion is the first person I've heard that did not like the way fishing is done in the game. Also, fishing gets even more fun later in the game when you get a real fishing rod, and can actually reel the fish in. I've played Rapala Tournament Fishing, and Zelda does fishing considerably better then that poor excuse for a game. |

What do you mean you get a real fishing rod, isn't the first one you get
the only fishing rod you'll ever have? I beat zelda in like 54 hours and only got 5 golden bugs and 29 poe souls, I think I missed alot of things, but only because I thought you could go back after you finished the game. zelda turned out as a good game, but I thought it would last me longer. I know that zelda is probably the longest rpg, but I still like wind waker more, maybe because of the side quests. Metroid prime and metroid prime 2 lasted me more than a year even though it's only like 15 hours of gameplay. Now I don't have a game besides wii sports and I won't have one until my brother buys me mp3 like he has bought me every other metroid game. Still Zelda tp is a must have game and it turned out to be the only game I could've bought that would've lasted me anything close to what I wanted, no other game could've lasted me two months except Zelda tp, so I'm actually glad I bought it, and i'm going to play wii sports an hour a day until I get a new game, so I can lose a little weight. Not that i'm that fat just that I can lose 10 or 15 pounds. |

I quite enjoy the fishing, I thought they pulled it off well, although I really cannot be bothered to go fish when there is much more exciting things to do.
And in future cases just remember once the bopper's top red line is submerged, pull up with the remote and hold it steady. Last edited by BlackJack; 02-19-2007 at 05:17 PM. |
