Fishing is annoying
Ok, i just got my wii. I just bought zelda. Im in some little hill-billy village, and i need to catch a fish so that i can buy a sling shot. I got my little bobble Fishing pole, i cast it in the water, and cant get the little ******* fishies to bite. Not to mention theres like 3 of them. I got 1 to bite two nights about, but almost immediately after, i lost the fish. What do i do? i cant progress in the game, and sitting in front of my TV trying to fish is really turning me off. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

ok young link the art of fishing is simple really. when the big long thing (bopper) goes down you pull back and start using the nunchuck and the rell to start reeling it in. i never had this problem. when i did this i just pulled back randomly. but i've been told that this^ is the art of fishing.

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure when you're using the first fishing rod (fly rod, perhaps?) there is no reeling action, ever.
Just Hold B, pull the rod back, fling it forward and let go of B at the same time. Your line should go out into the little pond of Ordon Village (AKA the little hill-billy village). Let the bobber sit straight up until a fish pulls it almost entirely under water. At the moment, pull up quickly to snag yourself a fishy. The game will say FISH ON! Now, the part I think you're having problems with... just pull the wiimote back over your shoulder, as if your trying to pull the fish towards shore (which you are). When it gets close enough, you win. Also, make sure you're fishing off the dock down behind the watermill. The whole point of this is to catch a fish for that Cat that is sitting by the dock. You'll make it happy, owner of shop cheers up, and you got yourself a slingshot. |

The bigger problem i had was getting FISH ON. It's taking HOURS. So, when i see my bobbler submerge, i should be putting the wiimote over my should as if im pulling back? Seems like everytime i point the wiimote upward, it just comes out of water. I'll try again tomorrow (not going to have time today). Thanks for the feedback guys. |

I'll file those last two posts in my little black book of useless information.
Honestly, if you think holding a little bobble rod for over 2 hours, to catch some little fish to feed some silly cat, in order to progress in a game, you guys got to get out more and get some rippage. Not to sound like a jerk, but this is my first wii game, and im still learning the controls. I guess its a tough lesson, but i for some reason, im not doing it right, and the game doesnt tell you the right way of doing it. As much as its nice to see you enjoy fishing in a zelda game, it's not helping. Thanks again to cobrabry, and others for more usefull information. Last edited by Incursion; 01-23-2007 at 03:03 PM. |

It took me less than a minute to catch a fish, you're probably doing it
wrong. fishing isn't that fun, but I only did it twice for the game and didn't have any problems doing it at all. |
