on topic-

my older brother played this game round a friends house and it told him he was overwieght. In truth, he's muscle to the bone, as pretty much since the begining of the year hes been practicing to a Lands end to John o groats bike ride. (that from one end of britain to the other)

But look at it this way. It can't read the mass of fat in your body. It is estimating everything there. It can't see your body and decide. Built like stone or built like a keg. It doesn't matter to the system it will give readings and perdictions from your weight only.

There isn't a game system that has the magical look and bodyfat counter peice.

So basically all this is is people who don't want their feelings hurt. So rather than making something innovative and new we gotta recall it or ban it because god forbid politicians don't get their votes and god forbid politicians do something to actually help the country for once and god forbid that well you get the point. Anyways as for the BMI thats true even with big time wrestlers and stuff they say they are overweight but the truth is that most of it is muscle and muscle weighs ALOT more than fat. Too actually calculate how much fat to muscle you have to take a test where they send a small electrical current through your body and see how fast it goes. If wii fit did that then there would be lawsuits saying why did my child get electrocuted?

"I know it is just a game but we already have to worry about young girls starving themselves to look like magazine models and now we have a game that tells them they're fat. This to me is very worrying."

Tam Fry of the National Obesity Forum called for children to be banned from playing the game, claiming the BMI measurement was misleading.

"I'm absolutely aghast that children are being told they are fat," he said.

"BMI is far from perfect but with children it simply should not be used.

"A child's BMI can change every month and it is perfectly possible for a child to be stocky, yet still very fit.

"I would be very concerned if children were using this game and I believe it should carry a warning for parents."

Nintendo said today it would not be placing a warning on the game.

A spokesman said: "Nintendo would like to apologise to any customers offended by the in-game terminology used to classify a player's current BMI status, as part of the BMI measurement system integrated into Wii Fit.

Wii Fit is still capable of measuring the BMI for people aged between two and 20 but the resulting figures may not be entirely accurate for younger age groups due to varying levels of development."

it's just a game!!! so if it said she was fat. people are trying everything these days to get money, it's sad when they have to bring their child into it just for money.

I think... Wii Fit is a stupid game anyway. If I wanna excersise I'll go to the gym or spend my time away from a video game trolling around the woods or something.
