Wii Transfer Review

Have you ever desired to stream your movies, music and photos from your Mac to your Wii? Then Wii Transfer is the ideal software solution solution for you. It allows you to easily stream your movies, music and photos from a Mac to your Wii to watch or listen to through your TV, and is the one of the easiest to use software of its kind.
Wii Transfer does a wonderful job at streaming your music and photos. It also does a great job with video transfers but you may run into a couple hiccups. One would be that some of your video files may not convert due to an unusual or unsupported codec, and the other one could be a bigger issue which is that at this time you can’t stream your videos purchased from iTunes (one of many iTunes restrictions). Those two minor issues are the only negatives to the program I could see. Wii Transfer converts your videos to Flash format then will allow them to be streamed to your Wii.
Wii Transfer is a useful and very innovative product and I foresee it being perfect if the developer can find a way to add in support for your iTunes video content, but even without this, it can be an invaluable tool for many Mac/Wii crossover users.
Another unique feature is that you can copy your Mii to your Mac and save it as a jpeg file through Bluetooth. Before Wii Transfer there was no other way to show off your Mii’s unless your friends were over or you played with them online, but now you can show your Mii off to anyone you wish.
Finally, one extra useful thing that Wii Transfer offers is a game back up feature. All of your downlaoded games or data that is on your Wii, that can be saved to SD memory cards, can be backed up into your Mac. Simply save your data from the Wii’s memory to the SD card, then stick the card into a USB reader on your Mac. Wii Transfer will automatically back up your data and keep track of it. You can then take a blank SD card, load it up with your saved data and put it back on your Wii anytime you like. It’s an extra backup mechanism for all your favorite games.
Overall Wii Transfer is an excellent program and is highly recommended. Wii Transfer does require the use of the Internet Channel on your Wii to stream your music, movies and pictures, but that is a very minor thing considering what having the internet channel and what Wii Transfer allows you to do. The product sports an affordable $19 price tag as well.
